ABOUT
University of California, San Francisco
The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a public university campus devoted to the health sciences. It combines biomedical research, graduate and professional education, patient care, and public service. Its four professional schools cover dentistry, medicine, nursing, and pharmacy.
UCSF is the academic home of Ellen J. Weber, professor emeritus of emergency medicine. Her research interests include emergency-department use, crowding, and quality—questions relevant to how health systems assess performance beyond a single operational measure. Her affiliation does not imply that UCSF endorses a particular management framework.
