ABOUT
Teresa M. Amabile
Teresa M. Amabile is the Edsel Bryant Ford Professor of Business Administration, Emerita, at Harvard Business School. Her research examines how work environments shape creativity and motivation. With Steven J. Kramer, she studied knowledge workers’ daily experiences and wrote about the importance of making progress in meaningful work.
That work helps explain a human part of strategic momentum: a credible step forward can strengthen people’s motivation to continue. It does not establish that progress by itself secures resources or makes an organizational initiative self-sustaining.
